Scotch doubles Tournament Information
Format: Scotch doubles is a unique format of bowling. “Doubles” means that each team has two bowlers. “Scotch” means that you and your teammate play on the same scorecard under one name, and alternate shots. In short, you and your teammate alternate every single throw. Not every frame, every throw. If Bowler (A) starts the first frame by only hitting down 8 pins, Bowler (B) must throw at the remaining two pins. If Bowler (A) gets a strike, it’s now Bowler (B’s) turn to throw at a full set of pins. 9-Pin No-Tap Bowling is a scoring format in which knocking down 9 pins counts as a strike. If you knock down 8 or less, you have to hit the spare as normal.
RULES: The bowlers can compete in the tournament during anytime of open play. No handicap will be used in this tournament. Bowlers are allowed to participate during cosmic play for an additional $5.00 per person. Bowlers will not be allowed to perform score corrections. If a score correction is needed you must notify the control desk. The desk attendant will make any changes necessary. Bowlers will be allowed to participate/enter multiple times. Standings will be posted on Sunday’s. If you wish to re-enter a new entry form must be filled out. The bowlers will bowl a 3-game set. Bowlers may participate anytime! If the participating bowlers are caught intentionally cheating scores will be disqualified and no refund will be provided.
Entry Fee and Registration: The fee to enter the tournament is $40.00 per team. To play the tournament during cosmic bowling the fee is $50.00. The open play tournament will run from January 20, 2023 through February 14, 2023. Entry forms must be 100% completed to qualify to bowl. The entry fee covers bowling & shoe rental. There is two divisions. 1) Non-League Bowlers 2) League Bowlers. The competition must be completed on a single lane and must be done in a timely manner. You must note at entry that you are either a Non-League Bowler or League Bowler.
Payout: All prizes will be paid out by February 28, 2023.
The 1st place prize is based up on 10 entries for the tournament. If less the 10 entries the first-place prize will be adjusted accordingly.
The winners will obtain the winnings with Gift Cards from LBJ&T Inc. dba Bowling World Gutters Grille. The Gift Cards may be used only at Bowling World & Gutters Grille.
There is two divisions and a 1st place prize for each. 1)A division for Non-League Bowlers 2) A division for League Bowlers. Each division will need 10 entries to qualify for the $250.00 Gift Card. If less than 10 entries the prize fund will be adjusted.
Invite your friends and family to come out to have some friendly competition that gets recognition. Nothing better than some bragging rights between bowling rivals! The winners will allow LBJ&T Inc. dba Bowling World Gutters Grille take pictures and post on social media.
