About Carolyn
Carolyn Dorin-Ballard is one of the most celebrated figures in the history of women's bowling. A dual Hall of Famer — inducted into both the PWBA and USBC Hall of Fame — she built her legacy from the ground up as a standout high school bowler, three-time Collegiate All-American at West Texas A&M, and ultimately one of the most dominant players on the women's professional tour, with 21 PWBA titles, three major championships, and two Player of the Year honors. A trailblazer in every sense, Carolyn was the first woman to bowl a 300 game in PBA competition and the first to roll back-to-back 300s in a PBA regional event — records that cemented her place in bowling history. A 5-time Team USA member and 2011 World Championship gold medalist, her international résumé is equally impressive. Today, Carolyn continues to give back through her role as ESPN/ESPNU color analyst, as owner of Ballard’s Bowling Academy, and as Co-President of Ballard vs. The Big “C” — a non-profit close to her heart dedicated to the fight against cancer. She is also the proud mom of Alyssa Ballard, a Vanderbilt NCAA Bowling Champion.
